Educational Seminars and Conferences

The educators' seminars of the Diaspora Zionist Identity Empowerment Department take place every year and bring together educators from Israel and the world for a centralized educational journey in Israel. During the seminars, the educators and headmasters from diverse educational systems participate in an educational-experiential program, which combines tours throughout Israel, experiential learning, professional encounters and exposure to educational, social and environmental work in Israel.
The seminars are intended for both Jewish and non-Jewish teachers and educators from the diaspora and provide them with informal educational tools and up-to-date contents, which assists them in building significant and in-depth educational programs about Israel for their students and communities.

Goals of the Seminars

The seminars are intended to:
  • Deepen familiarity with the state of Israel, Israeli society and the Jewish world;
  • Strengthen ties between the diaspora communities in Israel;
  • Forge professional connections between education systems in Israel and the world;
  • Instill educational tools and contents for the promotion of Zionist, social and environmental values;
  • To enable educators to better understand the experiences of their students who participate in educational programs in Israel.
During the seminar, the participants are exposed to the landscapes of Israel, its stories, its challenges and the opportunities hidden within it, by way of active, experiential and multidisciplinary learning.

Learning that Continues Onward

At the end of every seminar, the participants are required to develop and present an educational initiative based upon the tools, contents and experiences they acquired during their stay in Israel. These initiatives are implemented after their return to their schools and communities around the world and constitute a direct continuation of the learning and connection process created in the seminar.

In this sense, the impact of the seminars goes beyond the boundaries of time and place: alongside the personal experience of the educators, their students – the young generation in the various communities – also benefit from them, as they are exposed to Israel through significant, connected and relevant education.

Designated Seminars of Groups of Participants

Among other things, designated seminars take place for various audiences, including a broad international educators' seminar and unique study tours for educators from Australia, France, Russia and additional countries. The seminars are adapted and built in cooperation with agents and representatives of KKL-JNF, in accordance with the educational, cultural and communal needs of the participants and the educational systems they come from.
