Hamalachim – Shahariya Forest is located 4 km east of Kiryat Gat. The forest was named after the Shahariya transit camp, which was established in 1956 slightly west of where the forest was planted, one of the first in Israel.

The six million trees, planted in 1951, are a living monument of eternally green memorial candles for the six million of our people who perished during World War II.

Nahal Besor is a trail in southern Israel that follows the 80 km Nahal HaBesor stream-bed. The trail traverses a nature reserve encompassing badlands that flower at the end of winter, wildlife, nature pools, archaeological sites and vegetation, and passes reservoirs and pools constructed by KKL-JNF to trap floodwater that rushes through the stream during the winter flash-floods.

The Gerar River (Nahal Grar) is the main tributary of the Besor River (Nahal HaBesor), the park is situated in the Gerar River gully between the towns of Netivot and Ofakim, and the area is planted with tamarisk, eucalyptus, olive and carob trees.

Ofakim Park is situated east of the town of Ofakim, not far from Beersheva, the capital city of Israel's south. Begining as a forest that was planted in 1978 by KKL-JNF, Ofakim has become a large green oasis, encompassing the historic Patish Fortress, scenic hiking and cycling routes, and disabled-accessible recreation sites.

The forest extends in a green strip adjacent to the Pisgat Zeev and Neveh Yaakov neighborhoods of northern Jerusalem, and was planted by KKL-JNF from 1982 onwards. Nature lovers will discover that this small forest offers a rich variety of Israel flora and fauna.
