Location: Western Negev, near Kibbutz Re’im.
Description: A scenic lookout that serves as a station on the ANZAC Trail – a tourist trail that follows the campaign route of the Australian and New Zealand cavalry in World War I (1917), who set out from Gaza to conquer Beersheba. The scenic lookout overlooks Tel Gama and the desert forest planted by KKL-JNF in the surrounding wadis. In the wadi, KKL-JNF demonstrates planting methods and technologies that are intended to prevent soil erosion. The scenic lookout is disabled-accessible and there is a picnic area next to it. There is explanatory signage at the site.
Directions: Drive south from Sa’ad Junction (Route 232), bypassing Be’eri and Re’im. 50 m south of Gama Junction turn right onto a dirt road, which runs parallel to the road and reaches Nahal Asaf Scenic Lookout after 1.5 km.
