  A unique regional project is getting underway: a new cultural center with approximately 500 seats, alongside an employment and vocational training center for people with disabilities. The shared complex will bring together culture, community, employment and equal opportunity under one roof. The groundbreaking ceremony was held today in the presence of President of Israel Isaac Herzog, senior local government officials and representatives of the organizations partnering in the project.

  Ahead of a discussion by the District Planning and Building Committee on the “BS/3000” policy document concerning the expansion of Beit Shemesh, KKL-JNF is presenting an alternative planning proposal demonstrating that the city can grow to more than 550,000 residents without developing new neighborhoods in the forested and open areas east of Route 10 (Route 3855).
