Mishlat 7 Command Post Lookout

Hebrew name: Mishlat Sheva

Location: Jerusalem Mountains

Description: From the recreation area that serves as a memorial site for the 6th Battalion of the Palmach, there is a road that travels along the Convoy Ridge, which is above Sha’ar Ha’gai from the north. The road is named after John Difenbaker, Prime Minister of Canada (1957-1963), and a friend of Israel. The road that travels along the edge of the Neve Ilan Forest offers a spectacular view of Sha’ar Ha’gai. It usually ends at Sha’ar Ha’gai, but due to the paving of the rails for the train to Jerusalem, its western end is blocked.

Directions: From the Portzei Ha’derech Recreation Area, Highway 1, near the Shoresh interchange.
