Location: Horashim Forest.
Description: Horashim Forest is spread over about 2,700 dunams, in the area where the western hills of Samaria meet the Sharon plains. This is an important natural space, in a closely settled area, which provides a breathing space for plants, animals and of course also human beings. On the edges of the forest, near Nirit, is a camping site in memory of Hezi Sapir, who fell in a terror attack that took place at Netzarim Junction in the Gaza Strip (November 1994).
From the camping site a short path ascends to the head of the adjacent hill. The observation plaza faces east, over the spectacular scenery of the Samaria Mountains – Sha’arei Tikva, Ariel, 'Azzun ‘Atma, Kafr Thulth and many other villages. A few steps away, you can look west towards the expanses of the coastal plain – the towers of Gush Dan and the cities of the Sharon.
Directions: From the entrance gate to Nirit continue another 700 meters to Hezi Sapir camping site on the right of the road.
