Eucalyptus Recreation Area Closure

The Eucalyptus Recreation Area in Beit Shemesh is closed due to upgrade works.

Kula Forest – Closure of Warriors Path

The Warriors path will be closed from June 21st, 2021 until further notice due to forest works.

The Martyrs Forest

The green-marked dirt road (Road 9353) which passes through the Judea Mountains National Park, is closed to motor vehicles, and is open for foot travelers and cyclists only.

Haruvit Forest - Closure of the Public Restrooms at Halo'hem Recreation Area

The public restrooms at recreation area are closed until further notice.

Modi'in Forest – Temporary Detour for the Israel National Trail

Due to development works in the bridges of the Anava interchange, a two-kilometer detour has been marked for the Israel National Trail.

Aminadav Forest - Ein Hindak

The Ein Hindak spring on the springs path is closed to the public due to a collapse hazard.

Sataf - Nahal Sorek Trail

The Nahal Sorek trail from the Sataf's lower car park to the water cleansing facility is closed to the public due to hazards.

American Independence Park

  • Arrival and travel through Ein Al-Marj near the stalactite tunnel are extremely dangerous. The site is closed for travelers.
  • The Caesar Trail – A new route was opened on the southern side of Road 375, which does not require crossing the road. The new route connects Har Ya'aran to the Bet HaBad Camping Park. The trail is about 2 km long. The trail has signage and is marked by the Trail Marking Committee.


Closure of the Shen Hapil Recreation Area

The Shen Hapil recreation area, underneath Har Nof,  is closed due to interchange development work.

Mitzpe Modi'in Amphitheatre - Events

Events cannot be held at the Mitzpe Modi'in Amphitheatre until further notice.

Nes Harim

The restrooms in Nes Harim are out of order due to lack of proper authorization. The closest restrooms are at Bar Bahar

Asam-Porat Car Parks Closure

Due to safety concerns, the camping parks are closed. The public is invited to the Sa'ar HaCarmel Camping Parks, on Route 672, north of Elyakim Junction. 

Ben Shemen Forest

1. The restrooms in the forest are closed until further notice.
2. Due to heavy contamination by the pine processionary in the Ben Shemen Forest, no activities and hiking are approved for teenagers, including overnight camping in the forest, until further notice.

Tzora Forest

1. The scenic lookout in the forest is closed due to safety hazard.
2. The Shimshon Trails in Tzora Forest are open for hikers. Works are still being carried out in the lot at the foothills at the start of the Shimshon Trails – No entrance to the work area.

Ilanot Visitor Center and Botanical Garden

The garden is open for visiors from 8:00 to 19:00. Accessible restrooms are available, as well as accessible trails.

Groups can reserve guided tours through email at mmilanot@kkl.org.il the visitor center hosts individuals and groups, call 09-8974800 for details.

Neve Ilan Forest

The entrance gate to the forest within the town after the banquet hall, is closed for security reasons.

Ayalon-Canada Park

The park's gates open on 6:00 and close on 18:00. Vehicles are not allowed in the park while the gates are closed. The park is open 24/7 for foot travelers.

Vehicle Access:

From March 6, no vehicle entrance to the park will be allowed from Mevo Horon and Sha'ar HaGay. Vehicle entrance will be allowed from the main gates and from Road 3 during opening hours.

No Overnight Campting:

Overnight camping for groups and individuals in the park is forbidden.

Tel Akad

Tel Akad and its surrounding trails are closed to visitors due to safety hazards.

Restrooms:

Restrooms on the western side of the park are open from 08:00 to 15:00.

Restrooms on the eastern side of the park are closed.

Yad Kennedy

The Yad Kennedy site is closed to visitors due to construction and restoration works until further notice. The works include: Establishing the Aminadav Forest Center and restoring the monument.

Tsur Natan Forest

The KKL-JNF team began the forestry works in the Tsur Natan Forest. The work will begin in the area of the quarry, and wIll continue to the area of Tzur Yitzhak, Kokhav Ya'ir and near Kibbutz Eyal. Some of the works will be conducted near the Nahal Alexander Bicycle Trail. The work will continue for about 6 months. The area is not being closed, however the public is being asked to obey the instructions of the employees at the work sites.

The Forests of the Judean Foothills and the Coast

All the restrooms in the forests of the Judean Foothills and the Coast (excluding Hulda Forest) are closed until further notice according to the following list:

 Srigim Campsite in Britannia Park
The restrooms in the Hulda Forest shall remain open according to the operating times that appear on the website – Fridays and Saturdays.
 

Nahal HaShofet Site – Ramat Menashe Park

1. On weekends and holidays, the site may be busier than usual. Periodic closures of the site may occur in accordance with the number of visitors.
2. In light of the security situation (26/9/2024), there is no activity in Nahal HaShofet Park. There are no shelters placed in the park and staying there is dangerous.

Har Etan

Due to the security situation, the area / path going up the mountain from the overnight camping park is closed to hikers, until further notice. The picnic camping park near the 101 structures, the overnight camping park and the trail surrounding Har Etan are open to the public at large.

Peretz Camping Park

Peretz Camping Park at the entrance to Moshav Tzelafon has been closed due to safety issues. The public is asked not to use the camping park facilities and not stay there until further notice.

Horshan Mountain Forest - Alona Park

KKL-JNF is conducting forestry work in the Horshan Mountain Forest to thin out coniferous trees and encourage natural woodland. The forest trails will be periodically closed for the works Sun.-Thu. Estimated end time of works: July 2024.

Rosh HaAyin Communal Forest

1. As of June 2, 2024, a return to forestry work is planned in the Rosh HaAyin Forest (work that began before the winter and was paused for the Blooming Season). As part of the preparation of the forest for the summer months, KKL-JNF is conducting operations for the forest's health and maintenance including maintaining fire breaks, thinning out trees, pruning, clearing out dry trees and dealing with invasive species.
2. Rosh HaAyin Communal Forest is closed to vehicles, entry is only permitted to pedestrians and bikers.
3. As of August 6, 2024, and as part of the grazing in the forest, the sheep herds go into the forest and remain there for a month and a half. The grazing is important and is intended to reduce the number of forest fires.


Nahal Gahar - Placing Permanent Barricades


KKL-JNF wishes to announce the placement of permanent barricades in order to prevent vehicle access from the direction of Road 6953 to Nahal Gahar (Ramat Menashe Park). The upper section from the Nahal Gahar Camping Park and up to Road 66 shall be an area dedicated to hiking and biking only. Access to and from Road 6953 is very hazardous. Access to Nahal Gahar Camping Park by vehicle is from the park entrance (from the direction of Road 66).


Nahal Zohara

Nahal Zohara (part of the Megiddo Trail) is closed to hikers due to works by heavy machinery and trucks in the field. We will update you regarding the end of works.

Safety Pruning Work in Camping Parks

As of July 29, 2024, and for one month safety pruning works will be conducted in the following camping parks: Iron Camping Park, Meisar Camping Park, Harish Communal Forest Camping Park, HaHar HaAgol Overnight Camping Park and the Bat Shlomo Entrance. The camping parks will not be closed to the public but follow the guidelines of workers in the field.

Adullam – France Park

1. The Bell Cavern in Burgin is closed to hikers due to safety issues.
2. Due to the many break-ins to vehicles parked in Burgin, please make sure to lock your vehicles and not leave any valuables in the vehicle.

Britannia Park

1. As of June 30, 2024, the Srigim Camping Park in Britannia Park will be closed to pedestrians and vehicles for three months. Construction and forestry works will be conducted in order to upgrade the camping park. It is hereby emphasized that the entrance to the Terebinth Trail will also be closed for safety reasons and entry to the trail for groups or individuals will not be permitted.
2. The Luzit caves are closed for visitors. Entrance to the Tel Goded caves has been blocked.

3. The entrance to the Srigim recreation area from Road 38 (the white strip) is closed - to enter the area, drivers should take a U-turn in Ajur.

Hulda Forest – Herzl Farm

Group visits and training to Herzl Farm in Hulda Forest cannot be coordinated until further notice. We are working to reopen the place as soon as possible.

Canada Park (Route 386)

Starting July 4, 2023, the Canada Park on Route 386 (Bar Giora – Ein Karem Junction) will be closed to the public due to infrastructure work. Estimated completion of works: End of 2026.
