Summary

The "Israeli Inventions" kit introduces the participants to the world of Israeli innovation in an experiential, competitive and enjoyable manner. Through tasks, riddles and team challenges, the participants are exposed to ground breaking inventions and technologies developed in Israel – in the fields of medicine, agriculture, high tech, transportation and more. The activity encourages creative thinking, teamwork, a sense of pride, and the connection to Israel as "the Startup Nation".
 

Educational Goals

  1. Exposing the participants to Israeli inventions.
  2. Creating an affinity for Israel and what occurs within it as a groundbreaking nation.
  3. Strengthening the self-awareness of the participants regarding their ability to dream, initiate, invent and change the world.

The Target Audience:
Teenagers and school students, ages 12 and above.

95 minutes.

List of the activities in the kit:

Stage 1 – Opening and Core Activity (About 75 Minutes): Innovation Missions

Explaining the Activity (5 Minutes)

Division into small teams and explaining the rules of the game.
 

Tasks and Riddles Within the Teams (About 70 Minutes)


  1. Each team receives a different riddle or task card, and goes out to solve it through a data search, or by completing a team challenge or task.
  2. Among the Tasks: Sending icons like ICQ, using Waze, data search on ReWalk, building a salad with "edible inventions" such as Israeli couscous and Bamba, identifying key figures, creative photography and more.
  3. Each success entitles the group to a letter from the secret slogan of the activity.

Equipment to Bring

  1. Writing Implements.
  2. Ingredients for making a salad – Israeli Couscous, Bamba, soup croutons, cherry tomatoes, oil, lemon, seasoning, additional vegetables, bowls, plates, knives, silverware.

Stage 2 – Collaborative Summary (5 Minutes): Slogan Reveal and Winners Announcement

The teams jointly assemble the slogan from the letters they received:
"ISRAEL – THE START-UP NATION"

Stage 3 – Conclusion (10 Minutes): Dare to Invent

  1. Concluding conversation about Israeli innovation, entrepreneurship, and the courage to dream.
  2. The participants are invited to think about what invention they would like to develop.
  3. A group photograph with large letters.
