HaZorea Park Recreation Area (Mount Gahar)

The main recreation area in HaZorea Forest, which is one of the oldest forests in Israel and covers about 30,000 dunams. The recreation area has many picnic tables, some of which are wheelchair-accessible. The recreation area provides easy access to Nahal HaShofet, HaShalom Valley, Nahal Gahar and to the scenic road that crosses Ramat Menashe. In the winter there is a spectacular flowering of cyclamens, anemones and a large variety of other flowers.

Directions: From the Yokneam-Megiddo road (Route 66), between Km markers 28 and 29, turn west according to the signs to "Ramat Menashe Park." At first, the road turns south, parallel to Route 66, and after about 600 m the road curves to the right and goes up Mount Gahar. After another 1.6 km, you pass the road that goes to Nahal Gahar and then pass the road that turns left to Juara. The road here makes a sharp bend to the right and reaches a junction after about 600 m: Directly ahead – the HaZorea recreation areas; to the left – Nahal HaShofet.
