Sataf

The Sataf site, located in the heart of the Jerusalem mountains, preserves the traditional means of agriculture that have existed in the Land of Israel since the dawn of history. KKL-JNF preserves and reconstructs the ancient agricultural terraces, using traditional irrigation methods to collect the water from small springs into pools and transport it through narrow channels in the ground to the cultivated plots. In the area of Sataf's upper parking lot, KKL-JNF has prepared a recreation and leisure area with wheelchair-accessible tables. An information center currently being planned at the site will have a display with information about the area, restrooms, drinking water and a café.

Directions: A. From the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem road (Route 1): Turn south at the Harel Interchange and continue by way of Maoz Zion towards Kibbutz Tzuba (Route No. 3965). The turn-off to the Sataf is at the traffic circle just before the Sataf.
