HaMalachim-Shaharia Forest Recreation Areas

A forest road about 4 km long passes through the sites of HaMalachim-Shaharia Forest near Kiryat Gat. KKL-JNF built several recreation areas along this road. The Haruvim recreation area is right at the entrance, and not far from it is the Kivshan HaSid recreation area, which is indeed located next to an old lime kiln (kivshan sid). Another recreation area is located near Hurvat Karu' (Karu' Ruins), which contains the remains of an ancient building.

The main recreation area in the forest is next to the observation tower (closed to visitors) and has many wheelchair-accessible picnic tables, restrooms, and a playground that is also suitable for children with disabilities. Short walking paths and a bicycle path were paved in the forest.

Directions: The entrance to the forest is about four km east of Kiryat Gat, Route 35, between Km markers 23 and 24.
