Maccabiah Games

The Maccabiah takes place in Israel every four years, with Jewish althetes from all around the world.

The 20th Maccabiah took place in Israel on July 4-18th, 2017.
In 2017, 10000 Jewish athletes from 80 countries came to Israel to participate in 3000 tournaments for 47 different sports.

The Maccabiah is the third largest sporting event in the world, after the Olympics and the Universiade.

The Maccabiah is the largest Jewish-Zionist sporting event ever held in Israel.

The opening ceremony for Maccabiah 2017 took place at the renovated Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem on July 6th 2017, before 34,000 spectators, and was attended by the President of Israel, the Prime Minister, government ministers, ambassadors, businesspeople, philanthropists and Jewish community leaders.

The Maccabiah athletes toured Israel with KKL-JNF, and planted trees in KKL-JNF's planting centers.
