Scenic road through the Beit Keshet Forest

A scenic road about 19 km long runs through the Beit Keshet and Churchill Forests. One end of the route is near Camp Shimshon, near the Golani Interchange. Two more entrances to the route are near Kibbutz Beit Keshet and Nof HaGalil. KKL-JNF has established several recreation areas along the route.

Juliana Recreation Area – the northern-most recreation area in the forest, all shaded by pine trees. The recreation area, which contains picnic tables, commemorates Queen Juliana of the Netherlands (1909-2004).

The Forester's House (Beit HaYa’aran) Recreation Area - a large recreation area with picnic tables, some of which are wheelchair-accessible. From the recreation area, a short, regular road descends to the Forester's House (Beit HaYa’aran) – a stone house built by KKL-JNF in the 1940s for those who planted and worked in the forest.

HaAlon HaGadol Recreation Area – a large recreation area with picnic tables, some of which are wheelchair-accessible, located next to a big and resplendent Tabor oak tree. HaTarshim Trail, a hiking trail that passes among impressive stone rocks, starts here.

Churchill Recreation Area – the recreation area closest to Nof HaGalil. It has both regular and wheelchair-accessible picnic tables. A memorial wall opposite the recreation area was erected to commemorate Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965), who gained world-wide admiration during World War II, when he was prime minister of the United Kingdom.
