Swastika Carved on the Door of KKL-JNF Offices in Rome

KKL-JNF World Chairwoman: “A serious act. We expect the authorities in Italy to investigate.”

An antisemitic act of vandalism occurred last week (Friday) when a swastika was drawn on the door of the Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) offices in Rome. This is a grave incident, adding to the worrying rise in antisemitism affecting Jews across Europe and the world, and it requires all relevant parties to act decisively against the phenomenon.

KKL-JNF World Chairwoman, Ifat Ovadia-Luski, said in response: “The drawing of a swastika on the KKL-JNF offices in Rome is a painful reminder that Jew-hatred still raises its head in Europe and around the world. This is a cowardly act intended to undermine the sense of security of Jews wherever they are. We strongly condemn this incident and expect the authorities in Italy to take clear steps to identify those responsible and to prevent such cases from recurring. KKL-JNF will continue to work tirelessly for the Jewish people, for Zionism, and for strengthening the bond with Jewish communities everywhere, with the deep belief that precisely in the face of this darkness—we must continue to fight and bring more light.”
