KKL-JNF Supports Alert Squads and the Security Needs of Towns Under Threat

In addition to supporting boder towns at the western Negev and northern Israel, KKL-JNF will also provide support to alert squads and the security needs of towns in Judea and Samaria, and the city of Ashkelon.

Due to the continuing security threats, the KKL-JNF board of directors decided to provide support for alert squads and security for frontier towns and the security needs at Judea and Samaria, as well as every town that is defined as under threat. In addition, KKL-JNF will provide assistance to each alert squad in 95 border towns that are forced to deal with security challenged. The total amount of the support will be about 31 million shekels. KKL-JNF also approved assistance to alert squads in the city of Ashkelon, which came under heavy attacks.

The assistance will consist of support for the purchase of protective gear to the alert squads and other security items: binoculars, ceramic vests, helmets, safety glasses, thermic clothing, security vehicles, drones, gates and fences, cameras, security posts, walkie talkies, security lighting and generators.

In addition, the KKL-JNF board of directors decided to give additional support in the amount of half a million shekels to equip the alert squad of the city of Ashkelon. The overall amount of assistance is about 31 million shekels, and it follows the support given during early October, at the beginning of the Swords of Iron war.

KKL-JNF chair Ifat Ovadia-Luski: "The multiple threats and challenges faced by Israel's security forces and civilian population, in the midst of the fighting, puts tests the resilience of the home front as well. From the moment the Swords of Iron war broke out, we all saw how critical it is to equip the alert squads. We saw how, in many towns, the alert squads operated under heavy fire and saved the lives of thousands of residents. This important decision of the KKL-JNF board of directors will assist in keeping the residents safe, and it is part of KKL-JNF's effort to support the national mission."
