No One Stays Hungry

In what became a holiday tradition, the KKL-JNF Workers Union joins forces with Israeli farmers in a special project dedicated to the memory of late member Prosper Kadosh, a project which puts food on the Passover table of hundreds of poor families.

The KKL-JNF Food Baskets Project has begun. In the course of the coming few days, hundreds of poor families will get food baskets that will help them fill their tables. For the second time this year, the KKL-JNF Workers Union chose to dedicate the project to the memory of the late Prosper Kadosh, Coordinator of KKL-JNF's Contact with the Southern Local Councils. Prosper also played a significant part in the project each year. He passed away about a year and a half ago, after a long battle with cancer.

Farmers from all over Israel joined forces with the KKL-JNF Workers Union on the project, in which food baskets, donated by the Simon Foundation, will be given to poor families along with a vase of flowers in celebration of the holiday. The baskets will be added with the farmers' products, helping hundreds of families fill their holiday table with dry food and fresh vegetables.

Israel Goldstein, Chair of the KKL-JNF Workers Union, tells of Prosper Kadosh: "Even before the last Rosh HaShanah celebrations, in his final days, he still contacted farmers to get more donations for poor families. He believed in this project, and in each year, he was one of the project's leaders. Prosper always said yes to any request for help. As a workers union, which made it its mission to give, we are proud to commemorate Prosper's 'life project' and do good."

Proesper's family also took a part in the project. Ohad Kadosh, Prosper's son, told about his father: "my father has always given to the poor, especially at the holiday seasons when he was working relentlessly to collect donations and products for the food baskets. From an early age, I remember my father taking care of donations, and we were packing food baskets together and give them to families." He added that "since my father passed away, we carry his legacy. I want to thank the KKL-JNF Workers Union and Chairman Israel Goldstein who commemorate my father in this touching and important way."
