KKL-JNF invites the public to come to the orchards throughout Israel, where fruits can be picked for free. It should be noted that picking should be for personal, and not commercial purposes.
At the Ayalon-Canada Park, between the Latrun and the Sha'ar HaGuy interchanges, visitors can pick figs, carobs, grapes, almonds, pomegranates, and sabras. At the Sataf in the Jerusalem Mountains, visitors can pick carobs, figs, grapes and pomegranates.
At the Britain Park, located in the Judea Plain, visitors can pick grapes, almonds and sabras.
At the Adamit Park in Northern Israel, visitors can pick grapes, sabras, figs and carobs. And at the Henton Forest of the Lower Galilee, visitors can pick carobs and figs.
The orchard trees are spread randomly in the forests. They were planted by KKL-JNF with the intention of preserving the Israel's agricultural heritage.
KKL-JNF emphasizes the importance of protecting the tree and its surroundings, and visitors should be careful not to break branches while picking fruits. Visitors should also avoid climbing the trees for fruit-picking purposes.
Suhil Zydan, KKL-JNF's Chief Forest Official: "The summer season is a great opportunity for all of us to reconnect with the nature and the soil. Bring family and friends and come our orchards for an unforgettable experience. You'll enjoy traveling, picking and eating the fresh fruits that grow in our country."
