Butterfly Celebration at the Hula Lake

Thousands of painted lady butterflies are now migrating through the Hula Lake. This is an inter-generation migration, as the butterflies reproduce while migrating, and the next generation continues the migration.

The painted lady specie prefers the mallow plants, and lay their eggs on the growth along the cycling track at the lake.

Inbar Shlomit Rubin, KKL-JNF Field Manager at the Lake: "If you stand still for a moment, you will see the place fill up with butterflies. It is a heartwarming and unique experience. The travelers at the lake are invited to enjoy the wonders of nature.

Right after the holiday, on April 14-15 (Friday-Staurday), the lake will host the "Butterfly Festival", which will include special tours, children's shows, open-air theatre, family activities and more.
