KKL Mexico and ORT Mexico University sign a cooperative agreement, launch first online graduate program “Environmental Education in the Global Crisis”.

The protection of the environment and related projects of social impact have become increasingly recurrent and relevant. Nowadays, the aim is to teach directly from nature, using it as an educational resource designed to improve and appreciate the environment from a perspective in which there is a teaching-learning model on correct behavior towards the environment and its implementation.

On March 7, 2018, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael Mexico and ORT Mexico University signed a cooperation agreement which began with the launching of the first joint on-line graduate program "Environmental education in the global crisis", directed at all Latin American countries.

High-level government officials as well as senior representatives of CJM institutions and members of NGOs attended the event. Among the participants were José Antonio Jiménez, Director of Natural Resources and Protected Green Areas of the Cuajimalpa delegation; Dr. Yehuda Bar Shalom, Dean of Hebráica University; Fabián Yañez, President of the Mexico-Israel Committee of the Mexican Council of Foreign Trade; and members of the Board of Directors of KKL-JNF.

The agreement was signed on behalf of KKL Mexico by Patricia Katz de Saltiel, Chairman of the KKL Mexico Board, as witness of honor, and by Nissim Shasho, Executive-Director of KKL Mexico; and on the part of ORT University by Dan Ostrosky, President of the ORT México University Board of Directors and by Arturo Merikanskas, President of ORT Patronage as witnesses of honor, together with Moisés Salinas, Dean of ORT México University.

This graduate program comes in response to the global need to raise awareness regarding the protection of the environment through practice, where participants will receive tools to implement pedagogical planning in social impact projects.

The graduate program envisions the practical aspects of the projects developed by KKL-JNF, both in Israel and in other parts of the world, as a global leader in environmental protection.

The collaboration seeks to unite people interested in the field of Environmental Education by encouraging participants to develop their own projects – personal, work-related or community-oriented – to generate positive environmental change.
