Sukkot Events in KKL-JNF Forests

Welcome to the Forest of the Future

KKL-JNF invites the public to come and enjoy a variety of fun events for the entire family during the Tishrei holidays. All the events are free of charge (unless stated otherwise), upon registration in advance on the Sal KKL-JNF website or the link specified for the event.

An "Israeli" Sukkot in the Forest of KKL-JNF

This year, we link the KKL-JNF forests to the future!
Together we will create innovative experiences for the entire family and provide a view of the future! In the event: an interactive and innovative game in the style of "Treasure Hunt", a giant Dome in which nature films are projected throughout the event in 3D and 360 degrees. Water-Tag Wars, creative activities in nature, a multimedia compound, VR goggles, musical shows, a game fair, and more.

When? Chol Hamoed Sukkot, Monday to Wednesday, 19-21 Tishrei 5785, October 21-23, 2024, on Monday and Tuesday between 09:00-17:00, on Wednesday between 09:00-14:00.
Where? The Communities Camping Park in Ben Shemen Forest.

"An old timey olive harvest" – a family experience in the olive groves of KKL-JNF

We are looking forward to seeing you at the olive groves of KKL-JNF for an old timey family experience.

The activity includes: harvesting olives, guided tours, creative workshops, activities for children. We will harvest the fruit into olive gathering containers (a cash honorarium of NIS 10 per container, at the activity's location).
The duration of the activity is about two to three hours.
Participation in the activity is free of charge.
Does not require registration in advance.

Co-Tarbut – "Maayanot" – Original Performances in the Negev and Galilee

KKL-JNF in cooperation with Co-Tarbut, is strengthening the culture in the Negev and Galilee, an important initiative particularly these days. Within this framework, theater performances, singing and dancing, shows, creative workshops, music and circus performances, photography exhibits, art and sculpting and more take place at sites throughout the Negev and Galilee.

Central Region

A Sukkot Happening in the Judaean Foothills

Sukkot in the Ilanot Botanical Garden (in cooperation with the Ilanot Visitors Center)

A unique Sukkot celebration in the forest, which is second to none in Israel, in which 350 species of trees from all over the world grow alongside one another. The public is invited to visit the Ilanot Visitors Center, to take guided tours in the Botanical Garden among the garden trees, some of which represent the four species, to sing and drum in a drummers' circle for the holiday, to enjoy the activity stations for the entire family, to play via smartphones "Treasure in a Sukkah" and "Haviyaar Ilanot" and view an enjoyable juggling performance.

Hosting Ushpizin at Herzl House – Seasonal Culture House

You are invited to be Ushpizin in the forest, where you will meet various characters who will tell you theatrically about the meaning of the trees and the forest in our lives, the environment and sustainability, the story of the historical house and more. We will enjoy creative and activity stations. A performance for the entire family at 12:00.

Birds in Horshim Forest

A Sukkot celebration for the entire family revolving around migration of the birds. We will prepare a feeding compound for the birds from natural materials and recycled materials and enjoy activities in this area.

The 31st Storytellers' Festival

As part of the 31st Storytellers' Festival, we will enjoy eight days of funny, fascinating and surprising stories hosted by the national storyteller, Yossi Alfi.
On Monday, October 21, 2024, the "From One Generation to the Next" Panel will take place with the groundbreaking women of KKL-JNF, who would tell the historic tale of KKL-JNF and the actions it took for Israeli society, such as: breaking paths for security roads, helping evacuees, tree plantings, settling the land, forestation and painting the wilderness in green, assimilating Olim, activities in the education and culture field and more – with the participation of the KKL-JNF Chairwoman, Ms. Ifat Ovadia-Luski.

Northern Region

A Sukkot of Experiences in the Hof HaCarmel Forest

The public is invited to an event for the entire family, at the heart of a magical forest. We will enjoy a drummers' circle and world music, the forest fairy, stations for creating things from natural materials, a visual art workshop hosted by the Uri & Rami Nehoshtan Museum, a traveling museum – activity regarding the social vision of Herzl. "The Norman Show" from the Cuckoo Theater, an amusing show for the entire family at 11:00.

A Sukkot of Experiences in the Churchill Forest

The public is invited to an event for the entire family, at the restored and renewed forest as well as enjoying a promenade and spectacular panoramas that overlook the Jezreel Valley. In addition, we will enjoy a drummers' circle and music of the world, the forest fairy, stations for creating things from natural materials, green workshops: eco print, a designed pot, a photography workshop, the "Escape Suitcase" of the Valley Museum – the story of The Pioneers and a street theater from the Ohel Theatre.

A Sukkot Happening at the Ha-Mal'akhim-Shkharya Forest

A Sukkot celebration for the entire family that includes creative stations in the spirit of the holiday and plays for children.

A Culture Meeting

For Sukkot, the children's play "Ksuma" of the Alma Theater, a meeting for children's poetry titled "the Flying Horse" of the Helicon Association for the Promotion of Poetry, creative workshop of the Dana Gallery and a dance performance of the band Ka'meah.
An event in cooperation with Co-Tarbut, the culture and heritage institutions in the Negev and Galilee.
