Location: Be’eri Forest covers 11,000 dunam in the western Negev, near the Gaza Strip.
Description: The historical and archeological sites in the forest include the remains of Old Be’eri, ancient water cisterns and ancient wells. The ANZAC cavalry were in this area for about six months – the Australian and New Zealand cavalry soldiers who fought in the World War I alongside the British.
