Black Arrow Monument
Location: Gaza Envelope, near Kibbutz Mefalsim.

Description: The impressive monument, which overlooks the area of Jabalia and Gaza, takes us back to the battle heritage of the paratroopers and the reprisal operations of the 1950s. Stone columns portraying the paratroopers’ reprisal operations with diagrams of the corps’ battles stand in the large plaza. Another monument commemorates the fallen soldiers. Near the memorial, KKL-JNF has built a camping site with picnic tables. Just south of the monument is the Armistice House – a one story house with a tiled roof. KKL-JNF restored the building, which was used by the Israeli ceasefire committee delegations when they met with the Egyptian delegations.

Directions: From Sha’ar HaNegev Junction drive in the direction of Kibbutz Mefalsim (Route 232). The entrance to the monument is about 800 m west of the entrance to Kibbutz Mefalsim.
