Marcel Luria Scenic Lookout (Mitzpor Marcel Luria)

Description: An observation deck roofed with a pergola overlooking Abu Gosh and Route 1, towards the western neighborhoods of Jerusalem. The Castel and Tel Tzuba can be seen clearly and so can Aminadav Ridge. Gush Etzion can be seen in the distance. A plaza next to the scenic lookout enables secure parking. The scenic lookout is a masterpiece which has made the best of a potential problem. Building the road resulted in a surplus of dirt. KKL-JNF and the Public Works Authority used the surplus dirt to turn the place into a disabled-accessible observation plaza. The lookout is named after Marcel Luria, who was president of KKL-JNF in Belgium and funded the operation.

Directions: Exit the Tel Aviv–Jerusalem road at Hemed Interchange, pass Kibbutz Kiryat Anavim and reach the intersection with Route 425. Turn right towards Har Adar and reach the scenic lookout, at the side of the road, after 500 m.
