Idan

Moshav Idan, founded in 1980 by immigrants from Canada and the United States, now has 320 members (69 families), most of whom make a living from agriculture and tourist related industries.
KKL-JNF has been supporting farming activity in the Arava since the founding of the region's communities, reclaiming thousands of acres of land annually. KKL-JNF thereby ensures that modern, profitable farming sectors continue to play an important role in the region's economy. As well, KKL-JNF has created a playground area for the community's children.

Thanks to from the support of KKL-JNF’s Friends in the Netherlands, over the past three years, 330 dunams of desert have been prepared for agricultural use at Moshav Idan in Israel’s Central Arava region. The final 150 dunam were prepared in September 2015, and the new families who have joined the community have begun to work their land.
