This cooperation is part of a strategic program to take responsibility for the field of informal education in Israel, with the intention of encouraging graduates of the academies to move to the north and the south, to create new core groups, scouting workshops and to instill love of the land.

This collaboration and support helped to create graduates organizations in 38 of the academies, the goal of which is to found communities in Galilee and the Negev. The hope is that within five years, hundreds of thousands of residents will come to the Negev and Galilee regions.

About 3,000 young people enrolled in 54 pre-military academies throughout Israel, and next year, the intention is to absorb about 100 youths who are currently living abroad and will be joining.

KKL-JNF World Chairman Danny Atar said that “one of KKL-JNF’s most important missions is to be part of informal education, which is why we inaugurated activities with the Academies Council, which has a great influence on reality in Israel through its thousands of graduates.”

The Yediot Aharonot and ynet Educational Conference in cooperation with KKL-JNF will be held today. A special session of the conference will be devoted to informal education.
