In the runup to the Purim festival, young volunteers distributed about 2,000 Purim gift baskets to senior citizens around Israel. The gift baskets, lovingly donated by friends of KKL Sweden, brought much-needed Purim joy to the isolated and the lonely.

At the end of last week thousands of tons of tar washed up on Israel’s beaches. In the wake of the disaster, KKL-JNF’s Education and Community Division immediately rose to the challenge and together with its youth movement Green Horizons, initiated clean-up activities on coastal areas that sustained major damage.

The many lockdowns that Israel has experienced due to the Corona pandemic left many families without a source of livelihood. Donors from KKL Sweden initiated a campaign with the goal of making the upcoming Purim holiday happier and sweeter for many families. Thanks to their contribution, about 2,000 Purim baskets were distributed in a number of communities throughout Israel.

In the wake of the fire that devastated the Mevo Modi'im Forest two years ago, KKL-JNF's partners in Holland, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Canada and France mobilized in support of the forest's recovery. The burnt ground slowly became nourished by the outpouring of support. Now, in a moving ceremony, KKL-JNF has officially launched the replanting of Mevo Modi'im Forest, to bring it back to life.
