yesterday (Sunday), a national commemoration ceremony was held marking 28 years since the seven schoolgirls from Atid SHACHAR Beit Shemesh school were murdered in an assault on the Island of Peace in Naharayim. The ceremony was held with the bereaved families present, Government representatives, mayors and hundreds of schoolchildren.

In a heartfelt tribute to his tenure in Israel, Lý Đức Trung, Ambassador of Vietnam, joined Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) in planting 18 trees in Ben Shemen Forest. The event, attended by distinguished guests from the Vietnamese Embassy, the Ambassadors Club, and various organizations, symbolized renewal, resilience, and the deep bond between Israel and Vietnam.

As part of its ongoing commitment to rehabilitating Israel’s northern forests, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) held a tree-planting ceremony in Biriya Forest, marking a significant step in the 'KKL-JNF for Tomorrow' initiative.

After the Second World War, KKL-JNF was flooded with inquiries from Jews from around the world, seeking to memorialize their loved ones who perished in the Holocaust. Thus, the "Forest of the Martyrs" was born – a unique forest that constitutes a living monument commemorating the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust.
