As part of the Music Celebrations in the KKL-JNF forests, we’ll be commemorating and honoring singer-songwriter Uzi Khitman, on whose much-loved songs we all grew up. A family event combining children’s activities and a special performance of Uzi Khitman’s hits by the Reception Band.

A walk, accompanied with singing and accordion playing along the forest trails to the commemorative spots for our war-fallen from the various wars. We will visit the Moshe Sharett Lookout, built in memory of Israel’s first Foreign Minister and second Prime Minister. From there we will continue to the “Crisis to Hope” Rock, commemorating Holocaust survivors who were the last remnant of their families, and who arrived in Israel to fight in the War of Independence, and more. A combined walking-driving tour, suitable for private cars.

We’ll  be touring this very special forest, a one-of-a-kind in Israel, which is home to 350 different tree species all growing beside one another. We’ll hear the stories behind these unique trees - as sung and told with accordion accompaniment.

At the end of the event we will play musical games and sing to the accompaniment of an accordion.

This is an invitation to get to know the forest through sound and light. We’ll start with a musical gathering in a drum circle. From there we’ll continue with an exciting lantern-hike at dusk, ending in the darkness as it descends upon the forest. We’ll hike the trails, we’ll sense and learn about the forest nightlife (is it awake, or does it doze off at dusk), we’ll listen to interesting legends and tales along the way.

We’ll learn about the forest and its development, about KKL-JNF and its work on fire-prevention.
