According to KKL-JNF Director General Amnon Ben-Ami, "Even before the climate crisis became a part of global agenda, KKL-JNF has been active in a wide range of areas concerning the subject and environmental preservation. Forestry, soil development, water and environmental research are just some of the actions taken by KKL-JNF that greatly contribute the fight against the climate crisis. KKL-JNF participates at the Climate Conference in collaboration with Israel, with the intention of making Israel a world-leading participant in the fight against the climate crisis using KKL-JNF's tools and through export of knowledge that will strengthen Israel's global position. KKL-JNF is the only Jewish green organization, and we hope that these actions will demonstrate the contribution of the Jewish people to making a world a better place when it comes to environmental thinking, the right use of energy, and protection of the natural environment that we depend upon."
In addition to its other activities, KKL-JNF has recently announced an annual award of two million dollars for Israeli researchers that will contribute breakthrough technologies that will help dealing with the climate crisis, and it is making preparations for the opening of the international center for climate research.
