Ahihud Forest Recreation Areas

The Ahihud Forest runs along the slopes of the Western Galilee that end in the Acre Valley. A scenic road about 8 km long crosses the forest in an east-west direction and is marked in green. The road is suitable for private cars and KKL-JNF has built several recreation areas along its length.

The main recreation areas:

Mount Camel (Har Gamal) Recreation Area – a recreation area with picnic tables that serves as a starting point for the trail going up to Mount Camel.
Directions: 300 m from the eastern entrance to the park.

HaZeitim Recreation Area – a recreation area with picnic tables, adjacent to elderly olive trees that lend the place a special beauty.

Directions: About 3 km west of the observation tower in the forest.
Sheikh Amin Tarif Recreation Area – the westernmost recreation area in the forest, dedicated to the memory of Sheikh Amin Tarif. There are picnic tables and group seating areas in the area.
