Hanita Forest Recreation Areas

The Hanita Forest, planted on the western edges of the Sulam Tzur Ridge, north of the town of Shlomi, offers several recreation areas.
 
Tower & Stockade (Homa U-Migdal) Recreation Area - The main recreation area is located in the heart of the Hanita Forest and has picnic tables, group seating areas, a children's playgrounds and drinking water. This is the place where Hanita was founded in 1938 as a Tower & Stockade village. The tower and a section of the stockade have been reconstructed next to the recreation area. The HaBe’er Trail (Shvil HaBe'er), a loop hiking trail, starts at the site and passes through a well-developed Mediterranean woodland.
 
Directions: Go north from Shlomi on the road to Hanita (Route 8990) and after about two km turn right, following the signs to Hanita Forest. After about 800 m you will reach the Tower & Stockade site and the recreation area next to it.
