Background: Green Ventures and greenXchange
Israel is partner country of the Green Ventures, 27.-29.01.2015, organized by the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Potsdam). Green Ventures is the largest partnership forum for environment and energy in Germany. In 2015 it is taking place at the Trade Fair Leipzig alongside the trade fairs EnerTec and TerraTec.
Next to bilateral talks between companies from Germany and abroad interested in cooperation, the partner country is presented in panels and presentations. greenXchange, the Israeli-German Environmental Exchange Program for Young Professionals, organizes and hosts a discussion panel on Smart Cities. The panel makes part of the Science Year 2015 of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology "City of the Future".
Since 2011 greenXchange has established itself as German-Israeli environmental exchange program for young professionals with the organization of an annually alternating on-site seminar in Israel and in Germany. greenXchange participants experience and discuss challenges of sustainability and best practices of both countries. Thus participants are motivated to sustainably shape infrastructure- socially, ecologically, and economically. Consequently participants act as multipliers raising awareness for a sustainable social change in their societies.
greenXchange activities in 2015 are under the patronage of the Federal Minister of Environment, Dr. Barbara Hendricks. The program is supported by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Berlin. In 2014 greenXchange has received a grant from the German-Israeli Future Forum.
